Start Reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck or Rich Dad Poor Dad? A Story of Two Books That Changed My Life*
It was a Thursday evening, and I was sitting on my couch, staring at two books on my coffee table. On the left was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck* by Mark Manson, its bold, black cover daring me to pick it up. On the right was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, its title promising financial wisdom and freedom.
I was at a crossroads in my life. I felt stuck — emotionally drained, financially insecure, and utterly lost. I didn’t know which book to read first. Little did I know, these two books would become the catalysts for the most transformative year of my life.
I was 28 years old, working a job I hated, and living paycheck to paycheck. I was constantly anxious, trying to please everyone around me — my boss, my friends, even strangers on the internet. I was giving too many f*cks about things that didn’t matter, and it was eating me alive.
One night, after yet another soul-crushing day at work, I found myself crying in my car. I felt like a failure. I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted anymore. That’s when I remembered a friend recommending The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*.
